American Automotive, Telsa launched 100kWh battery for Model X and S
With the aim to push the performance and range of its vehicle into Stratosphere, Tesla has just announced a new 100wh battery pack for the Model S and Model X that can travel up to 315 miles non-stop.
With its new battery, Tesla’s Model S is now the third-fastest car on Earth going from 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds in max power mode. Meanwhile, the Model X P100D (Tesla’s electric SUV) with Ludicrous mode hits 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and travels up to 289 miles on a single charge.
An improved version of 90kWh model, the new battery module is almost is of the same shape and size. The Standard charging rate for the 100 kWh battery remains the same as its predecessor while supercharging should hold a higher rate for a longer period of time. At the onset, Tesla Plans to produce about 200 Packs per week and they’re available to order today.
There is also a good news for the existing Tesla electric owner as they can swap out their 90kWh modules for the new and improved battery. They can upgrade to 100kWh pack for $20, 000, while those who have ordered a P90D, but haven’t taken the delivery yet can upgrade it for $10,000.
A new Model S costs up to $134,500 and a Model X tops out at $135,500.
