“Never in my wildest dreams did I ever expected it to end like this. The Pokey light shines down on me!” Grey Dear
Do you ever think that a game could bring blessings in someone’s life? You probably say, no. But Pokémon go, that hit the life of almost everyone, brings the life of an owner of Ice cream shop back to Struggling.
Gray Dear, owner of Mad Hatter’s Ice cream shop in Anacortes, had a hard time getting customers. But Pokémon go proves a blessing in disguise as since the launch of the game on 6 July, 2016, icecream sales tripled.
Grey Dear’s ice cream shop was located next to “Pokestop”, a place where players can acquire “pokeballs”. Pokeballs are used to capture Pokémon.
Sharing his overwhelm happiness, Dear said, “Never in my wildest dreams did I ever expected it to end like this. The Pokey light shines down on me!”
Sharing the chequered history of the shop, he said that he shut down the shop temporarily due to his health. The shop which opened back in 2010 observed its busiest days on Saturdays. However a market ended up taking over the street in front of the shop every Saturday, affecting the store’s business. Fortunately, Mad Hatter reopened about a week before the app launched.
Grey dear is now planning to named its ice cream on some Pokémon characters.
